The paintings in this exhibition span over thirty years and are the result of a continuing search to express something of my experience of life and faith. The show is therefore a mini retrospective with the changes of approach and style one might therefore expect.

The themes include as the title suggests ways of being in this world, how we interact, how we evolve through life and reach our potential, how spiritual memories can form us and how we might experience aspects of the divine in our lives.

I hope many of the works can express universal spiritual truths for example our desire for growth, relationship, freedom, joy and a sense of well-being. A painting, especially an abstract painting will inevitably and rather wonderfully create a myriad of responses in the viewer. I would like to think that these responses are ones of hope and expectation, as this was the mood and context in which they were painted.
