Nathalie Frost
Through her tactile and otherworldly art, Nathalie explores the complex
relationship between life, ageing, and the societal construct of
perfection.
By mending, meshing and tethering discarded fabric, broken shells and
worn threads, she invites the viewer to address ideas of deterioration
and renewal – both in the natural landscape and the human form.
Delicate offcuts, fabric decoupage and embroidered webs are layered
with tangled wire, broken nets and ripped silks to encourage a dialogue
between the dichotomies of ‘perfect’ and ‘imperfect’ – whatever those
mean.
The result is a flight of whimsy and non-judgemental joy, a playful
exchange of old and new, where fragments, debris and weathered
materials combine and flow to become a force for change and re-evaluation.
