Hastings Arts Forum is totally dependent on volunteers. We are always looking for new volunteers.
We have lots of different roles and there is something to suit everyone!
Front of house
This involves opening and closing the Gallery, meeting and greeting visitors, making sales of artwork and gallery cards, answering the phone and taking messages as necessary.
Sessions are from 11.00 – 2.00 and 2.00 – 5.00.
Choose a regular weekly slot, (or less often), or provide emergency cover.
Administration
General administration is done by the Gallery Coordinator, who works two days a week. From time to time you could help with particular tasks during the year.
Finance
This is relatively straightforward book keeping, banking, monthly reconciliations and reporting, together with the annual accounts.
Marketing
We are always in need of people with communication and marketing skills.
Curating and Hanging Exhibitions
Please get in touch if you have experience in these areas, or would like to join up with the hanging team.
IT
People with good IT skills are always in short supply
Open evenings
We usually hold these fortnightly on the first Friday of an exhibition, from 6.00 – 8.00. Come and help to set out tables, pour wine, be sociable and help tidy up at the end.
Fundraising
We welcome any ideas for fundraising events.
Trustees
New Trustees are always welcome to join our team.
Maintenance
We need handy men and women happy to do odd bits of decorating and maintenance work – put your name on the list.
