Remembering Ian Welsh – A Celebration of his work
Many of you will remember Ian Welsh with great affection. For those who did not know Ian, you
might still find his spirit and enthusiasm remaining within the ethos and spirit of the Gallery at the
Hastings Arts Forum.
He was a larger then life character, enthusiastic, a huge supporter of the arts and artists. He
breathed life and energy into the Arts Forum, galvanising all into action, and was a superb artist in
his own right.
His loss was immense, not only of course to his wife Jo and his son Jake, but to all who knew
him, to the wider community, and of course to the Arts Forum.
It is ten years since his untimely death, since when we have endeavoured to carry on his spirit and
energy with us here at the Arts Forum.
We are delighted that his wife Jo has agreed to exhibit a selection of his work here in the gallery
that he loved, and we remember his time here with thanks and gratitude.
