The Salon coincides with the ‘Word & Image’ HAF exhibition exploring the long and complex history of the relationship between the written word and visual images. Three HAF members have been agreed to help us to consider the influence of language, different varieties of script, literature, poetry, text on the nature and production of visual images. Lesley Barker is the ‘Word & Image’ exhibition curator and artist. Catherine Farr is a painter, mixed media artist, gardener, educator and eco-warrior who has been writing poetry since childhood. Reanna Valentine is a multi-media artist with a particular interest in printmaking, a published poet and disabled trans activist.
