Beyond Blue

A collaborative show of both textile art and watercolour paintings responding to the title ‘Beyond Blue’.

The idea is that each artist produces a piece of work in response to the title. That work is then shared with a member of the other group who produces a second work in response to the first. Both are exhibited for each person. This way we explore each artist’s response to the subject both through their own eyes and through the eyes and medium of a different artist.

We are a group of 9 artists; 5 of whom are Contemporary Textile artists – Monika Brueckner MA, Marilyn Hall BA(hons), Caroline Hibbs BA(hons), Jean Kirk BA(hons) and Dr Kay Swancutt PhD who formed the Group Quinary after graduating in 2012. The 4 Watercolour artists from Hastings are: Susan Miller MA, Vivienne Lynn MA, Christine Forbes BA, and Jan Irvine Dip AD, who are part of the Pushing Boundaries exhibition at the Hastings Art Forum in July 2020. Quinary have exhibited extensively over the past 8 years both in this country and overseas in Germany and Canada (Quinary12 on Instagram).
