Festival 15

Hastings Arts Forum is celebrating its first 15 years by holding an exhibition of paintings that will showcase the extraordinary quality and range of artists connected with Hastings and St. Leonards-on-Sea, together with a series of events and talks.  The exhibition will feature paintings by a number of renowned artists, the quality of whose work has helped build the reputation of Hastings and St. Leonards-on-Sea as a centre of artistic excellence.

Hastings Arts Forum was founded in 2003 by a group of artists and art enthusiasts with a shared commitment to support and raise the profile of the visual arts in Hastings and St. Leonards-on-Sea.  The Forum is now a registered charity and runs two adjoining gallery spaces on the seafront.  The Forum is a not-for-profit organisation and is almost totally reliant on its many committed and experience volunteers.  The gallery space offers professional artists the opportunity to submit work for exhibition at a reasonable price and gives all artist members the opportunity to show their work at the annual members show.

Volunteers Show

The Hastings Arts Forum is dependent on its volunteers who give their time and expertise to run the Gallery and further the aims and objectives of the Forum. This show will feature a variety of work in a wide range of media by volunteers at various stages of their artistic journey, from the established professional artist to the emergent.

Anthony Pyke

Anthony Pyke’s work has an international reputation and can be found in private ownership throughout the world.

His inspiration came from a profound understanding of landscape, and many of his later paintings are derivative of the landscape and seascape of the South- East coast of England where he lived.

Anthony Pyke died in 2001 at the age of eighty and his family would like his work to be shown widely so it can be appreciated and inspire other artists.

Members M-Z

Our annual members’ shows give all our artist members the opportunity to exhibit one or two pieces of their work. Historically, a large variety of media, styles and approaches are demonstrated within these shows.

Our members range from renowned professional artists who have already developed a following, to artists at an earlier stage of their artistic journey. These exhibitions offer the former the opportunity to show a couple of pieces reflecting their current work without having to prepare an all-encompassing exhibition and it gives the latter the opportunity to introduce themselves.
